The front of this shirt is a reproduction of a handwritten note on a postcard by Sol LeWitt (1928-2007) providing installation instructions for his Wall Drawing #399 B: Circle, first installed at the Ezra and Cecile Zilkha Gallery in 1984. During his lifetime, LeWitt exhibited at Wesleyan several times (1984, 1989, and with Alvin Lucier in 2005).
This t-shirt is produced for the 50th Anniversary of Wesleyan’s Center for the Arts and the Zilkha Gallery. As part of the anniversary season, Renée Green ’81 presented an exhibition with LeWitt, including wall drawings drawn by current Wesleyan students. LeWitt’s Wall Drawing #1120, which was also first drawn in Zilkha and gifted to Wesleyan, was installed again by students. This drawing is still installed on a wall in the gallery's second floor lobby.
T-shirts are 100% cotton and are available in X-Small/Small/Medium/Large/X-Large and run true to size.
