The Birds of Hammonasset

The instructor, the Director of Bird Conservation for CT Audubon, will lead a walk at Hammonasset Beach State Park, emphasizing the variety of habitats and the bird life they support. Special attention will be given to the park’s salt marshes—their value, and the threats this type of habitat has faced. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the restoration work the Connecticut Office of the National Audubon Society and its partners are planning to increase the resilience of Hammonasset’s marshes.

Instructor: Corrie Folsom-O’Keefe

One session, Wednesday, Sept. 16, 4:30–6:30; meeting point is the Meigs Point Nature Center
